Building in the Dominican Republic
FFC community, we’re happy to report that our Aquaponics Farm Director, Alyson Wells, just returned from the Dominican Republic, where our newest farm project is taking place. This project is in partnership with TEARS, an organization that provides food and education to over 800 undocumented children and clean water to a community of over 30,0000 people. We are proud to come alongside TEARS to help add sustainability to their incredible work.
We’ve been consulting and training TEARS on their farm program for the past year, but now Alyson has been able to spend time updating their aquaculture system in person. Next, FFC and TEARS will construct a new greenhouse with a recirculating aquaponic system to grow leafy greens. This development will be a huge commodity and provide both food and income to their program.
We are beyond proud of this project and our continued collaboration with TEARS. Thank you all for your ongoing support. This work wouldn’t be possible without you.
