Thank you, FFC Family

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to thank you for your support of the Fly Fishing Collaborative. Your financial contributions have helped us continue to create sustainable solutions to poverty and human trafficking around the world. We can’t thank you enough.

This year’s battle with Covid-19 has created challenges for countless organizations and businesses, but through it all we’re so grateful to have continued making life-changing progress. Even this rollercoaster year didn’t stop our small, flexible and creative team from seeking innovative ways to provide help to those who need it most.

We were very fortunate to have completed one of our largest Aquaponic Farm projects to date right before the pandemic hit. This 1500 sq. ft. farm was built for orphaned children at New Life Children’s home in Jalaca, Honduras, one of the poorest countries in the world.

We have also grown our local initiative significantly this year by sponsoring 14 trafficking survivors in Portland, Oregon to receive a full year of personalized trauma-informed care. Our mission to invest lasting resources that create health and sustainability keeps moving forward.

Along with the growth of our local initiative we have had a significant rise in Aquaponic Farm requests throughout the year. This has created a need for us to grow from an operational standpoint. We are fiercely committed to our vision and mission, and our strategies continue evolving as our team expands to keep up with the growing demand for Aquaponic Farm to be built. This coming January we are excited to fill two crucial roles on the FFC team!

The first role is an operations director who will oversee all international and domestic projects, enabling us to scale and respond to the high demand for Aquaponic Farms. The second is a dedicated Aquaponic Farm director that will work alongside our existing volunteer farm team to provide more robust training for farm recipients, hands-on labor for each of our new Aquaponic Farm installations, as well as detailed data collecting to share more stories from the sustainability that you’re helping to provide.

Your support has been essential to making all of this possible and we can’t thank you enough for helping to creative sustainable solutions to poverty and human trafficking in our local communities and around the world.

If you feel compelled to give as this wild year draws to a close, you can do so here: Giving link

We look joyfully to next year, knowing that whatever comes, the compassion and creativity of our community will continue making powerful change in precious lives.

Gratefully,

Bucky Buchstaber

Executive Director
