Developments, events, and seeing more progress!
Dear Friends,
Can you believe it’s already mid-February? As we feel our momentum gaining in 2019, we want to take a moment to fill you in on some of our new FFC developments. We have a lot of exciting things coming up, and we want you to be the first to know!
We are excited to announce that we have officially finalized our plans to build an aquaponics farm in Peru this summer. The project will be in partnership with Help One Now, an organization that empowers indigenous leaders around the world by helping them find sustainable solutions to poverty and trafficking. This farm will be built for a safe home that serves as a place of refuge and restoration for trafficked and abused women and children from the Loreto region.
In addition to our work in Peru, this year we also have plans to expand our aquaponics training program in Nepal, as well as to put a water treatment system into El Pozo de Vida Safe House in Mexico City. While we were in Mexico City last spring, we noticed that in addition to their need for a farm, the home also has a need for safe drinking water. We are excited at the opportunity to help them attain access to this precious and vital resource.
As other requests for help keep rolling in, we will continue to update you on projects and their developments. Until then, we want to extend our heartfelt thank you for joining with us in this very important work. We are continuously honored by your support, and we look forward to a very exciting year ahead!
