Fly Fishing Collaborative and ODFW's Kids Fishing Day Recap!
Fly Fishing Collaborative and ODFW's Kids Fishing Day Recap!
What an exciting day it was for the young anglers at our recent Kids Fishing Day in partnership with the knowledgeable Chris Foster from the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) at the Metolius Pond in Camp Sherman. This was our first Kids Fishing Day in Central Oregon. We were also delighted to have Kate from the Mayfly Project volunteering with us, adding an extra touch of expertise and fun to the event.
The day saw a great turnout, with 9 enthusiastic kids eagerly participating in the activities. Each child had a memorable experience, with the added bonus of each kid catching at least one fish! The excitement in their eyes as they reeled in their catches was truly priceless.
The event was not only about the thrill of fishing but also about fostering a love for nature and a sense of responsibility for our environment. We are immensely grateful to all the participants, volunteers, and supporters who made this day a resounding success. Your dedication to cultivating a sustainable and conservation-minded approach to fishing is truly commendable.
We can't wait to see these young anglers grow and develop their passion for fishing and the great outdoors. Stay tuned for more exciting events and activities from Fly Fishing Collaborative and ODFW as we continue to nurture the next generation of environmentally conscious anglers!
Fish well. Do good.
