As we look ahead to 2024, Fly Fishing Collaborative is gearing up for a dynamic giving campaign fully aligned with our mission to create sustainable solutions to combat poverty and human trafficking. With your support, we can bring about tangible change in the lives of those in need. This season, we're excited to present three distinct giving options that enable you to contribute meaningfully to our cause.

1. Give towards a generous $25,000 matching grant

We are thrilled to announce that the MrBallen Foundation has generously provided a $25,000 Matching Honor Grant to FFC. In other words, they will match every donation that comes in dollar for dollar up to $25,000! Help us reach our $50,000 goal! 

Your donations will help us transform our Annual Kids Fishing Day into a comprehensive, multi-day outdoor camp for youth in local foster care, featuring a specialized curriculum focusing on social and emotional learning, healthy relationship skill-building, and trauma-informed practices. 

As of the latest available information up to 2022, research has indicated alarming statistics regarding the intersection of the foster care system and child trafficking. In the U.S. alone, anywhere from 50% to 90% of child trafficking victims have had some involvement with the foster care system. Furthermore, research conducted by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has revealed that a significant percentage of runaways who have subsequently fallen prey to human trafficking had initially run away from the custody of state welfare agencies. The data suggested that approximately 60% of these runaways had fled from the care of state welfare agencies. By taking a primary prevention approach to child trafficking through our Kids Fishing Camp, we aim to strengthen and foster healthy relationships, minimize environmental risks, and amplify protections against violence.
