Details
Warm Springs is a special place, located north of Bend and east of Portland in Oregon, bordering the Deschutes River. The Reservation is beautiful but unfortunately lacking many things including safe drinking water. Their crops rely on rain that doesn’t always come. People have little to no access to electricity and no control over the food sources that are vital to their communities. Through partnering with WESTCAT we hope to help bring positive reinforcements to the people of Warm Springs. Unfortunately, these villages depend on fishing in commercially overfished and polluted waters.
FFC’s future plans are in motion to start construction in spring 2025, which will include the installation of a 4 season green house and aquaponic system. The 4 season greenhouse is crucial as it will allow them to grow produce year around in a climate that is very harsh.
