Giving Tuesday, 2020
Friends, this year’s battle with Covid-19 has created challenges to countless organizations and businesses, but through it all we’re so grateful to have stayed productive. The year didn’t turn out at all like we expected but we have a small, flexible and creative team that is always looking for innovative ways to provide help to those that need it most.
We were very fortunate to have completed one of our largest farm projects to date right before the pandemic hit. This 1500 sq. ft. farm was built for orphaned children at New Life Children’s home in Jalaca Honduras, one of the poorest countries in the world. We have also grown our local initiative significantly this year by sponsoring 14 trafficking survivors in Portland, Oregon to receive a full year of personalized trauma informed care. Our mission to invest lasting resources that create health and sustainability continues to move forward.
We are very happy to share with you that we are receiving great reports from many of the safe homes and orphanages that we have built farms for in the past. They have been reaping the long-term benefits of their farms with continued food production. It’s encouraging to get positive reports from them during a time of so much global hardship.
Here is a short video recently sent to us from a safe home we built a farm for back in 2017. What better way to thank you than by a message from those you have directly impacted?
You have helped to make all of this possible and we can’t thank you enough for helping to creative sustainable solutions to poverty and human trafficking. Please stay tuned for news of exciting expansions we have lined out for 2021.
We are very excited for what’s ahead and invite you to continue to grow with us. If you are considering making a year-end gift this year please feel free to make it here.
Gratefully,
Bucky Buchstaber (Executive Director)
