FFC Community, celebrations are in order!

We're thrilled to share some exciting news with you! On August 10th, the FFC team will be returning to Uganda to complete the construction of a remarkable 17,000-gallon aquaculture system for Hands4Uganda and the Rock of Ages School. This project is making a significant impact on the lives of over 350 children from the slums of Mbiko, Uganda.

As you may know, life in Mbiko is incredibly challenging for these children, as many of them are without parents, come from families struggling with extreme poverty, or have mothers involved in prostitution. Some have even been affected by the grim reality of the sex trafficking industry. Moreover, Mbiko's location along a major trucking route makes it prone to abduction for trafficking or even child sacrifice, as witchcraft remains prevalent in nearby villages. The situation is truly heart-wrenching.

Despite the hardships, we believe in hope and the power of positive change. Over the past year, the Fly Fishing Collaborative has been working hand in hand with Hands4Uganda and Rock of Ages teams to construct a substantial 17,000-gallon aquaculture farm, and we are nearing completion. This farm will play a vital role in addressing the student's dietary needs by providing them with increased protein consumption, ensuring they receive proper nutrition.

Moreover, the farm's surplus yields will be sold to generate income and support the school's operational budget, creating a sustainable and self-sufficient source of income. This will not only aid the school in its current operations but also pave the way for future growth to accommodate more students and positively impact even more lives.

The prospect of finishing the final phases of this project fills us with immense excitement. Knowing that we are creating a sustainable food and income source for children who need it the most is a powerful motivation. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of you who have played a crucial role in moving this incredible mission forward. Your support has made all of this possible, and we couldn't have done it without you!

Together, we are making a difference in the lives of these children, offering them a brighter and more hopeful future. Thank you for being a part of this journey and for making a meaningful impact on the lives of these young individuals. We are looking forward to the day when we can celebrate the successful completion of this project and witness the positive change it brings to the community.
