Kids Fishing Day is one of the great ways we engage with the next generation. Some of our events focus on serving kids who are part of the local foster care system, while others are open to all. Our next KFD is open to everyone, and we can't wait to see the joy on their faces as we help them land some big fish!
Mbiko, Uganda Farm Update
We’re delighted to share some heartwarming news from our recent project in Mbiko, Uganda, led by Alyson Wells, the Director of FFC Aquaponic Farm. In collaboration with Hands4Uganda, we are continuing our dedicated work on the 17,000-gallon recirculating aquaculture system at the Rock of Ages School.

Land Lease Approval for Aquaponic Farm in Warm Springs
We're thrilled to share some incredible news that will profoundly impact the people of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. After an extraordinary meeting with the Warm Springs Community Action Team, we are bursting with excitement to announce that the Warm Springs Tribal Council has APPROVED a land lease for Fly Fishing Collaborative (FFC) to build an aquaponic farm!
Special Grant to Help Kids in Foster Care
We're also thrilled to share some exciting news that sets the stage for a remarkable journey of growth and impact. We've received a generous $25,000 Matching Honor Grant from the MrBallen Foundation! With this grant we plan to transform our Annual Kids Fishing Day into a multi-day outdoor camp with a curriculum that incudes social and emotional learning and healthy relationship skill building through trauma informed practices.

Local Justice Initiative Update: Safety Compass
As many of you know, we began a powerful local-based partnership in 2020 with the anti-trafficking organization Safety Compass. As a result, Fly Fishing Collaborative sponsored 20 human trafficking survivors in 2022 – real women in real situations that demand our attention and help.

Our Aquaponic Farm Director, Alyson Wells, recently returned from her vetting trip full of excitement. Alyson's trip was full of local farm visits, meet and greets, and instruction, but the best part was meeting the incredible partners of our upcoming Farm build; Abdu and Betty.
